Smooth transitions

Avoid relaxing completely at lockout or dropping into a passive bottom position when the exercise allows it. Reverse direction deliberately and keep the target loaded.

The movement should still be recognisable and measurable. Tension is not an excuse to turn full repetitions into pulses.

Use exercise-specific judgement

A cable lateral raise and a squat do not share the same safe end ranges. Some movements benefit from continuous motion; others need a brief reset for bracing and position.

The principle is local work, not dogmatic tempo.
